Privacy Policy
Paintlet collects nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash reporting. Nothing you draw or open is transmitted anywhere, because the app makes no network connections at all.
Your files
Paintlet reads and writes only the files you explicitly choose in a macOS open or save panel. Images stay on your Mac, in the locations you pick. The app does not scan your disk, index your files, or keep copies of anything you open.
The Mac App Store build runs inside Apple's App Sandbox and holds a single file-access entitlement — read and write for user-selected files. It is technically unable to reach any file you have not handed it through a system panel.
Settings
Your preferences, such as the appearance setting, are stored locally through macOS's standard user-defaults system and never leave your Mac.
Links out of the app
The About window links to Paintlet's GitHub repository. Following it opens your default web browser and hands the visit to GitHub, whose own privacy policy applies from that point on. Paintlet itself sends nothing.
Getting the app
Downloading Paintlet is a request to whoever hosts it, not to us. GitHub logs requests to GitHub Releases under its own privacy policy, and Apple handles Mac App Store downloads and updates under its own. Neither tells us who you are, and no download or usage data is collected or received.
Children
Paintlet is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above. Paintlet is open source, so any change to what the app actually does is visible in its commit history.
